Surry Hills Festival
A Perfect Day for a Great Festival!
Surry Hills rocked in glorious sunshine with the 2011 Festival. Large crowds jammed Shannon Reserve and Ward Park and filled the footpaths and shops, cafes and bars in between! Great music and lively entertainment was enjoyed by everyone as they sat on the grass or strolled through the market stalls and tasty food outlets. Visitors to the Surry Hills Library and Community Centre enjoyed activities in the Library and upstairs in the Kitchen. A good time was had by all in perfect, warm, conditions.

(Un)Seen Sculptures Art Show
Outdoor Mobile 3D Augmented Reality
Imagine, if you will, a version of Sculpture By The Sea composed entirely of virtual 3D works in specific geographic locations. Visitors to these locations with an iPhone, Android or Nokia SmartPhone (and a free app called the Layar Reality Browser) will be able to view and interact with these works which will appear on the screen of the phone as if they had been superimposed on the landscape. In some cases, the works may even play music/recordings for visitors.
The show will feature works by Australian artists, and an international contingent from as far afield as USA, UK, China and Portugal. For full details and a downloadable map of the Exhibition sites, please visit the (Un)Seen Sculptures website.
