Neighbourhood Centre Room Hire
Unfortunately, Room Hire has been unavailable during the redevelopment of the Surry Hills Community Centre building. However, we look forward to being able to make space available for community groups when we move back into Crown St in January 2009.
If you run a community group that needs space on a regular basis, and are interested in running your group in the new Surry Hills Community Centre, please contact Kate, our Centre Manager, on 02-9310 2888. You can register your interest online by completing the form by clicking here.
All community groups are welcome to apply, including
- Martial arts clubs
- AA and dependency rehabilitation meetings
- Literature clubs, poetry, book reading etc.
- Computer training courses
- Art and craft groups
- Music appreciation groups
- Dance clubs and classes
- Card playing groups
In the old Doherty Hall, we could only offer space in the evenings after childcare had finished, but in the new building we have several spaces available and daytime bookings as well as evenings can be accommodated.
The spaces available include:-
- Meeting Room able to seat 15 people, suitable for wet or dry activites
- Function Room can accommodate 100 people seated theatre style, or 48 seated around 8 tables. Can be divided into two, with separate AV facilities at either end.
- Computer Lab available for classes and activities, requiring group leaders authorised by the City of Sydney
